3 TIPS FOR NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONERS

With every New Year, come along New Year Resolutions. A lot of people make it a goal to improve their health and fitness in the beginning of the year. You may be unhappy with the holiday weight you have gained, and made it a goal to become healthier in 2022.

Unfortunately, a lot of people fail to commit to these goals and give up after a few short months. Fortunately for you, I have tips for you to be SUCCESSFUL this year.

Here are 3 simple and easy tips you should do to increase your chances of success! Do these to stay committed and get started on the right track! 

  1. Start with 2-3 days a week

    Going to the gym comes down to habits. It is about making small changes over a long period of time. This is why I always recommend starting off with baby steps, and slowly increasing the days once the habit is built! In the beginning you might be motivated to go 5 days a week, but you will soon realize how unrealistic that is if you do not have the habit to go to the gym. Once you start missing days you will feel guilty, unmotivated, and eventually quit. Therefore, start with 2-3 days, build the habit, and feel good about being consistent. Once you achieve this, start adding more days.

  2. Eat .08-1 grams of protein

    Eating a lot of protein in your diet has numerous benefits. Truthfully, not enough people get sufficient protein, but since you are starting your fitness journey on the right track, you are about to! Eating enough protein will help you pack on muscle and strength. Protein is the building block of your muscles, therefore if you want to improve the way you look eating sufficient protein is essential. Along with this, protein can help you reduce appetite and hunger levels. This is a great way to start building healthier habits outside of the gym.

  3. Sleep 7-9 hours of sleep

    Recovery is one of the most under looked parts of health and fitness. Exercise is stress to the body, and it is important to get enough sleep so your body can recover, adapt, and get stronger. The more stress you put on the body from exercise, the more sleep you need to recover. Getting enough sleep will also help you feel more energetic, boost your mood, and allow you to perform for your next work out. If you want to grow your muscles, give them the rest they need!

If you are looking to crush your health and fitness goals in 2022 start off with these simple tips. Use them as a foundation, and once these become a habit, start adding more changes to continue making progress. Be patient because these habits take time. The important thing is for you to stay consistent and not to give up. We have all heard Rome was not built in a day.
